After fresh up visit Udupi Shri Krishna Temple, Bannanje 23ft Shani Temple and Malpe St Mary’s Island. Post lunch visit Pajaka Madhwacharya Birth place, Kunjarugiri Sri Durgadevi Temple, Ambalpady Sri Mahakali and Janardhana Temple, Kadiyali Mahishsmardhini Temple, Indral Panchadurge Temple, Manipal Lake Ganapathi Temple (places are optional).

Day 2

Other Destinations

The temple of Manjunatheshwara on the hills of Kadri is said to be built during the 10th or 11th century. It was converted to a complete stone structure during the 14th century.

It is believed that Parashurama who was living in Sahyadri, killed the Kshathriyas who were cruel and donated the lands to Kashyapa. He prayed to Lord Shiva for a place to live. Lord Shiva assured Parashurama that if he performed a penance at Kadali Kshethra, Lord Shiva would reincarnate as Manjunatha for the betterment of the world. As per Shiva’s orders Parashurama threw his axe into the sea and created a place for his penance. Yielding to Parashurama’s prayers Lord Shiva appeared to him as Manjunatha with Goddess Parvathi and stayed at Kadri for the betterment of the world. As per the orders of Manjunatha the Sapthakoti Manthras become the seven Theerthas.
The Mangaladevi Temple is a Hindu temple at Bolara in the city of Mangalore in the Indian state of Karnataka. It is situated about three kilometres southwest of the city centre. The temple is dedicated to the Hindu goddess Shakti in the form of Mangaladevi, the presiding deity from whom the city derives its name.

The temple is of significant antiquity and is believed to have been built during the 9th century by Kundavarman, the most noted king of the Alupa dynasty, under the patronage of Matsyendranath. As per another legend, the temple is believed to have been built by Parashurama, one of the ten avatars of Hindu god Vishnu and later expanded by Kundavarman.
Sharavu Mahaganapathi Temple is a famous ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Ganesha. The temple is about 800 years old and has been an important part of the religious belief system in Mangalore ever since.


The name Sharavu is derived from the word ‘Shara’ which means arrow and has an interesting legend attached to it. The premise is well maintained and clean which provides for a welcoming and serene atmosphere for the devotees to visit the temple and offer their prayers. Lord Ganesha is believed to be the one who relieves his devotees off of their troubles and miseries.
The Gokarnanatheshwara Temple, otherwise known as Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Kshetra, is in the Kudroli area of Mangalore in Karnataka, India. It was consecrated by Narayana Guru. It is dedicated to Gokarnanatha, a form of Lord Shiva.

The temple is 2 km from the centre of Mangalore city. The temple has Gopuram decorated with murals of various gods and goddesses.
St. Aloysius College, is a Christian chapel in Mangalore in the state of Karnataka in southwest India. The Chapel is situated in the heart of the city on the Lighthouse Hill.

The interior of the chapel decorated with paintings by Antonio Moscheni that cover almost all of the walls, which is unusual in chapels in India. The paintings are preserved by a recognised board of the nation which maintains and restores all historic artefacts.
The Sultan Bateri watch tower, constructed in 1784 by Tipu Sultan is in Boloor, 4 km from the centre of Mangalore city, the chief port city in the state of Karnataka, India.

Sultan Battery was built of black stones and constructed to obstruct war ships from entering the river which was the major route for English invasion but was then retrieved from English by Tipu Sultan. It was also used as a fort with mounting places for cannons to avoid Britishers to enter Mangalore by sea.
Panambur Beach is a beach in the city of Mangalore in the Indian state of Karnataka. This beach is on the shores of the Arabian sea and is credited as one of India’s safest and best-maintained beaches. It is Karnataka’s most popular, well-connected, and most visited beach.

The beach is located in Panambur 10 km north of the City center which comes under the administration of Mangalore City Corporation.
Kadri Park is a park located in Kadri Gudde. It is the largest park in Mangalore. This park contains a musical fountain and has hosted the Karavali Utsav.

The park is famous for flower shows in Mangalore.

The toy train here is a popular attraction for children as the train takes people around the park compound.
Tannirbhavi beach is a beach in Mangalore, Karnataka, India. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in coastal Karnataka.

Along with the beach, Sultan Battery, Tannirbavi Tree Park & the proposed Marine museum are also the tourist attractions. It can be reached either by land near Kuloor Bridge or by ferry via Gurupura river from Sultan Battery.
